Icons for the V-Ray toolbar are missing and some buttons might not work properly. The viewport shaders must be copied to the relevant 3ds Max folder ("AMG" for 3ds Max 2017 and later) in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 20#\AMG. # stands for the number of 3ds Max version. It contains shaders for some Autodesk materials. Note that there is already an AMG folder in the 3ds Max installation. To make the "Realistic" view work, copy the AMG folder from \Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max #\AMG into the 3ds Max installation C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max #\AMG. "Realistic" view of V-Ray materials and maps in the Nitrous viewport is not available and attempting to use this mode might lead to crashes. To make MaxScripts available, copy them to the "scripts\startup" folder of 3ds Max. Modo support will be discontinued at the end of 2021.MaxScripts provided by V-Ray are not available (V-Ray scene converter, V-Ray Bitmap to VRayBitmap converter, and others). The desktop 3D applications that are supported by V-Ray are:Īcademic and stand-alone versions of V-Ray are also available. V-Ray is a rendering engine that uses global illumination algorithms, including path tracing, photon mapping, irradiance maps and directly computed global illumination. V-Ray is a commercial plug-in for third-party 3D computer graphics software applications and is used for visualizations and computer graphics in industries such as media, entertainment, film and video game production, industrial design, product design and architecture. V-Ray is a biased computer-generated imagery rendering software application developed by Bulgarian software company Chaos. Render created using V-Ray for Rhinoceros 3D, demonstrating the advanced effects V-Ray is capable of, such as reflection, depth of field, and the shape of the aperture (in this case, a hexagon)
